This is completely new to me, so let me introduce myself. My name is Mickey Hunt and I am female and 47 years old and for as long as I can remember I have struggled with my weight. I was fine till I reached the age of 12 and was diagnosed with Asthma. This seemed to trigger a life long attack of the lazies, as I now had a god given excuse to bunk off P.E. From this point on I seemed to grow, rather like a barrage balloon and spent all of my teens and much of my early twenties as an unhappy fatty.
I had a brief interlude in my mid twenties where I dropped from 13 stone to 10 1/2 stone and spent a year looking ok. I soon put it back on and it stayed there till I reached the age of 46 1/2 and just decided I had to do something about it. I joined Weight Watchers in August 2011 and between August 2011 and September 2012 I lost 4 1/2 stone.
It was amazing. It did wonders for my confidence and made me more energetic and interested in exercise. I took up cycling and joined the gym.
I have found myself slipping a little recently and found that I had plateaued on the Weight Watchers diet for the last few months, so decided to cancel the subscription and go back to traditional calorie counting (just to control the amount I was eating each day) and to try to combine it with a new innovation that I had discoved called the 5:2 diet.
This blog is going to be my way of recording and accounting for how it works for me. Hopefully there will be people out there who are interested in reading this blog and maybe what I post will help them. Keep watching.
